Ok, fellow GroupJive groupies. You've been waiting a long time for the new version of GroupJive with no way of knowing all the hard work Michael (stiggi) has been putting into making it all possible.
At first glance, GroupJive may not look much different, but it has changed drastically from within. So far, the following tasks have been completed:
- GroupJive has been ported onto the NEW Community Builder 1.2 RC3+ framework
- The CB framework allows GroupJive to work with Joomla 1.0 and Joomla 1.5 natively (Mambo has not yet been tested but should also work)
- CB Plugin System is now used for GroupJive extensions and integrations, which means third-party developers can use their current knowledge of CB plugin creation instead of learning a new API
- The CB GJ Plugin creates a GroupJive tab in your CB profile listing the groups you are a member of
- Integration with Fireboard forum using the GJ FB plugin (Tested with FB 1.0.4+)
- A reworked Hemi template
- The English language file has been revamped for the new release
- Updated Largest Groups module
- Updated Latest Bulletins module
- Updated My Groups module
- Updated Newest Groups module
- Integration of PMS Systems
- Integration of EventList
- Updating non-English language files
- Completion of the GroupJive Manual
- Templates
Now it's time for another change too. Behind the scenes, GroupJive.org is undergoing a facelift. First, you will notice a new forum taking the place of the current one. The old forum will remain as an archive for reference, but new posts will only be possible in the new one. There will be a select few categories at first to streamline input and response. The ability to link to old posts will remain, allowing issues relevant to the new version to continue.
After some long discussions, the GroupJive Team has decided you need to experience, firsthand, the progress that's been made. You've waited long enough. The benefits we discussed include a larger testing base and giving the community a taste of what the future holds, finally putting to rest the myth that GroupJive is dead.

Within the next week, we are planning to allow public download of GroupJive Pre-RC. Keep in mind that GroupJive now requires CB 1.2 RC3+, which will be available to the public on December 6th. There isn't much time to identify and resolve issues before the official release of the new GroupJive RC, also scheduled for December 6th.
We need YOUR help to identify any issues we may have missed and post them in the appropriate thread. Any confirmed bugs will be moved by the Moderators to the Confirmed Bugs thread for easy reference by the Team. At that point, the Moderators and Testers will report the bugs, stiggi will resolve them and the Testers will test again to confirm the fix for the new release.
